1984 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d’Elegance, Triple Black
This car is well equipped with the following factory options along with the usual Cadillac amenities: power passenger seat recliner, trunk mat, door edge guards, ASTROROOF, rear defrost and heated outside mirrors, power side view mirror, illuminated vanity mirrors driver and passenger, locking fuel filler door, leather trimmed steering wheel, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, FACTORY WIRE WHEELS, royal seal puncture sealing tires, twilight sentinel, theft deterrent system, trumpet horn, digital seek-scan cassette radio, cruise control and D’elegance leather seating. Those were some of the items copied from the original window sticker which I have. The original royal seal tires are in great condition and will come with the car. The vogue tires were put on to drive up to the Grand National last year. (550 miles round trip, the car performed flawlessly).
The interior is in impeccable condition. I have replaced the headliner and the 2 vanities as well as the 2 rear sail panels. I retained the original front floor mats and them recovered. The rear mats are original and mint.
The body and paint are in solid #2 condition. ALL the plastic filler panels were replaced with HIGH QUALITY replacements and painted with 2 stage urethane. The paint match looks better than factory. The same goes for the matched pinstripe in a tannish gold to go with the stripe on the tires.
The body is as straight as an arrow, but the factory lacquer paint is starting to show its age in the form of very slight spider cracks around the passenger side door handle. 31 YEAR OLD PAINT. I want to emphasize these imperfections are only noticeable from certain angles. Orther than that No dings and or scratches. FULL DISCLOSURE.
The well maintained engine runs AMSOIL 10W30 Z-rod high zinc oil and GM oil filter which is in my opinion the safest oil to run in HT4100 motors. Along with a careful 50/50 mix of distilled water and Peak full concentrate coolant as well as the factory prescribed GM coolant tabe: NO leaks, NO smoke, No stories.
The A/C was converted to R134 back in 2002 and blows Ice Cold
The transmission service was done last year with new filter, gasket, and Dexron transmission fluid.
The fuel tank was replaced when I bought the car due to the car sitting in the owner’s garage and the gas going bad. I replaced a defective float last year right before it went into winter storage.
I replaced the original belts and hoses of which I still have.
I took the car out of the garage for the first time in 4 months to take the pictures and it’s still a joy to drive and look at.
Last season the car took two 1st place prizes and one 2nd place prize of 96.25 points out of 100 judged by very capable and knowledgeable CLC judges (discrepancies were non-authentic tires and incorrect radiator hose clamps). This was, and is, a first place car.
